Prettyboy Watershed Alliance Events
Trail Maintenance Event on October 14 at 9 am
Join the Prettyboy Watershed Alliance, Sierra Club, and Mountain Club of Maryland to resurrect the Old Prettyboy Trail. The trail has had little maintenance for about 15 years.
Location: We will meet at a fire road on Tracey Store Rd., before the parking lot for the CCC trail. The fire road is just past the last house on the right on Tracey Store Rd before the parking lot. The first reservoir sign is beside the first fire road, that we'll use. There's an orange-red chain across it. Park on the grass there, but don't block the fire road. (There's another fire road further down, but it doesn't have a reservoir sign.) Tracey Store Rd. is reached by taking I-83 north. Get off on the Mt. Carmel Rd. exit and go left/west. Turn right at Prettyboy Dam Rd. Turn left at Tracey Store Rd.
Some tools are available--loppers, clippers, handsaws, sickles, and gloves, or you may bring your own. Wear sturdy boots, long sleeves, and long pants. Bring water and snacks. Tree Planting Event on October 20 at 9 am
Volunteer by helping the Gunpowder Valley Conservancy and the Prettyboy Watershed Alliance plant trees at Bee Tree. Planting trees helps to filter our groundwater, clean the air, and provide wildlife habitat. Gloves and shovels provided. Wear clothes that can get muddy and sturdy and close-toed boots or shoes.

Hike on November 10 at 1 pm
Join the Sierra Club and Prettyboy Watershed Alliance for an easy 4-mile circuit hike in the Prettyboy Watershed. Pleasant trail through diverse forest on peninsula. Will examine work of the Civilian Conservation Corps. Meet at 1:00 PM at trailhead on Traceys Store Rd. From I-83 take Mt. Carmel Rd. west 3.6 mi. to Prettyboy Dam Rd. and turn right.
